Re-root cucumber substrate trough
Year-round cucumber production with re-root substrate trough. Research and practice have shown that re-rooting cucumber plants requires minimum energy, which delivers maximum production yield. Great advantages are the huge cost savings of new planting, labour and biology. And the main advantage is that the grower can deliver cucumbers continuously all year round!

Year-round cucumber production with re-root substrate trough
It is becoming increasingly important for cucumber growers to be able to offer their product (cucumbers) all year round, with a constant quality and in predictable numbers. For this reason, high wire cultivation is becoming increasingly popular.
Several plantings of both traditional and high wire cultivation every year
Unlike traditional cucumber cultivation, high wire cultivation makes it possible to continuously deliver an almost identical product. Cucumbers grow very fast and in traditional cucumber cultivation, new plants are planted 3 or even 4 times a year. For high wire cucumbers, this is 2 to 3 times a year. Re-planting in high wire cultivation is only done because the distance between roots and the growth point must not be too big.
Re-Root offers the solution: one long cucumber cultivation and year-round production
Together with a leading cucumber grower, we developed the Re-Root substrate container as a solution for high wire cultivation. At the start of each cucumber cultivation, the Re-Root substrate container is placed on the existing substrate container, mineral wool mat or perlite bale. Using four fixing pins, the container remains stable on all cultivation solutions mentioned. When the total stalk becomes too long for healthy sap flow, the stalks are pushed through the grooves of the Re-Root container. A notch at the start of each groove ensures that the stalks stay in place. The stalks are covered with a layer of perlite, coconut or peat, as desired. The cucumber plant develops new roots on a joint, after which these new roots take over the task from the old roots. The plant’s maximum vigour is then restored. Because the Re-Root container has two grooves above each other, re-rooting can be repeated later if necessary.
Maximum production yield
